Are Credit Cards for People with Bad Credit that Difficult to Get?

Why are credit cards for people with bad credit so difficult to get?
Firstly, because of the credit squeeze, banks, financial institutions and credit issuers in general, are looking much closer at applicant's ability to repay. If this is OK, they examine his/her credit history. If there's even the smaller adverse recording, it means that the possibility for default exists, and the application is denied.

Secondly, many people with bad credit, applying for credit cards, are overcommitted. Their ability to repay is on existent. The level of debt they carry already makes it impossible to add another financial burden.
Credit cards companies and issuing banks know very well, in cause of default they stand to lose money - bankruptcy or Chapter 11 of the card holder, are not what makes profit of the lender going higher.

New Credit Related Site Is About To Be Launched!

With credit issues being at the forefront of American media and... citizens, it's great to see a new credit-related site being launched. As people look for new ways of dealing with the credit squeeze we're facing now, every bit of helpful information will assist existing and prospective borrowers in minimizing the financial impact of going into a debt, on their lives.

This website is going to be run as a social bookmarking site, with participants being able to add their worthy stories and contributions (comments, votes, etc.). It's going to be an experience similar to that of digg. What's different though, is that the content is very niche-oriented, dedicated exclusively to the credit-related issues.

Hopefully, it'll make exchange their good and bad experiences with credit providers, and put them in a position of being able to make an educated judgement about the loans on offer, and cash deals that are nowhere else mentioned.

Does my bad credit mean loans are not possible to get?

I've pretty low credit score, about 560 points. Some defaults mainly form phone companies and utilities. I'm working towards repaying these debts, but it takes time, especially if you've been out of work for 2 years.
Right now, I need to replace my car, for something more dependable. Used car dealer found me an affordable deal, I'm happy to accept. But, I need $4,500 for that to go ahead. he doesn't have any in-house financing, and when I asked at the nearest bank, they told me I won't be approved.

To make the things worse, I also need a cash loan, to help me with moving to another rental flat. All I need is $2,000 cash.
Where should I turn, and hope to get approved?
I don't have any security, apart from a chance that my mother would agree to be a guarantor. And as for the finance companies; I try to avoid them because of the huge interest rates they charge. Any advice?
